Santa Rosa Volunteer Fire Department

The department was established in the early 1970’s. The Cameron County Judge at the time was Judge Ray Ramon.
Currently, the department has 20 volunteer members some have full-time jobs.

The department has the following vehicles and equipment:
Three Pumper Trucks
Two Mini Pumpers 4X4
One Grassfire Unit. 4X4
One 1,750 Gallon Tank Truck with Pump.Add New
One Utility Truck 4X4
9 SCBA with Spare Tanks and Portable Generator
Rescue row boat with electric motor
Two Jaws of Life with cutters
Portable generator and portable lighting.
The most recent vehicle purchase were two 2012’s 4X4
Four Door Ford F-550 500 Gallon Tank
Two Door Ford F-450 250 Gallon Tank
Notations:
There had been no time lost due to injuries in the past year.
The department at this time is able to self-sustain with the budget allocated by the city.
The department has access to heavy and portable equipment from the city and school.
The department has always been actively involved with hurricane preparedness and community outreach assistance such as Red Cross, Baptist Church Mobile necessity assistance, MACC, and FEMA Staging Area.
